The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is pleased to announce the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Call for Projects for communities with 0-5,000 population for FY 2019.
ODOT’s TAP provides funding for a variety of alternative transportation projects. These include the construction of pedestrian and bicycle facilities and infrastructure for non-driver access to public transportation, projects that enhance safety and mobility for pedestrians, bicyclists and transit riders, projects that improve scenic or environmental assets in our state, Safe Routes to School projects, and more. An estimated $7 million in federal funds are anticipated to be available to award for Federal Fiscal Year 2019. All selected projects will be required to meet a minimum 20% local cash match.
All submitted applications will go through a competitive, multi-phase selection process. The Packet provides guidance on the program to assist eligible Project Sponsors in compiling and completing your applications. This guidance includes descriptions of eligible projects, project sponsors, MPO requirements (if applicable), funding, local match requirements, and the project scoring, review and selection process. Please be sure to read the Guidance in its entirety.
Sunday, July 1, 2018 – Registration Forms and TAP Application Guidance Packet Available on ODOT Website. Registration is an optional step and is not required to submit a TAP Application.
July 1-November 30, 2018 – Project site visits and project review sessions conducted by Local Government Project Managers, if requested.
October 1, 2018 – TAP APPLICATION OPENS. Formal call for projects announced. TAP Application Form will be live for Sponsor Agencies to submit Final Application.
November 30, 2018 – TAP APPLICATIONS DUE BY 4:00 pm CST on ODOT Website. Only online submissions will be accepted and scored.
March 2019 ODOT Commission Meeting – ODOT will announce final project selections and awards.
