In August 2023, ODOT began a comprehensive effort to evaluate its community engagement processes. The next phase of this process is seeking input on how the agency can improve its engagement efforts. Community Engagement is a broad term that includes all the following:
- listening to your input regarding transportation and community needs,
- responding to your concerns,
- communicating in an easy-to-understand manner,
- collaborating with communities to solve problems,
- keeping you informed,
- answering your questions in a timely manner, and/or
- providing ample opportunities for you to give input on transportation issues that impact you.
Providing exceptional customer service is a guiding principle of ODOT and having your honest assessment of how we’re performing is critical for helping us better engage with communities going forward.
